Greater Naples Fire dice que los planes para abrir una nueva estación están en proceso
A los vecinos del área metropolitana de Naples les preocupa que su nueva estación de bomberos aún no esté abierta.
El jefe Nolan Sapp, del distrito de bomberos del área metropolitana de Naples, dice que incluso ha habido rumores de que la estación 25 nunca abriría.
“Hay un clima político allá afuera que está tratando de percibir que no queremos abrir esa estación, eso es falso”, dijo Sapp.
Sapp dice que la estación de bomberos se construyó en marzo de 2021, durante un momento en que la pandemia también estaba afectando a los socorristas.
“Estábamos atravesando un pico con COVID, y tenía varias personas que estaban fuera con COVID, entre 3 y 10 personas al día que estaban fuera de eso”, dijo Sapp.
Ahora, los comisionados del condado están pidiendo al Distrito de Bomberos del Área Metropolitana de Naples que cree un plan que ponga en funcionamiento la estación.
Es una tarea que el jefe Sapp solo tiene unas pocas semanas para armar.
“Estamos buscando la rentabilidad, para propósitos de personal, estamos considerando las necesidades de volumen de llamadas, estamos tomando todo eso en cuenta y tenemos la intención de abrir esa estación en un futuro cercano”, dijo.

Esperan que llegue pronto un momento.
La estación 25, que se encuentra junto a The Lords Way en Naples, reducirá el tiempo de respuesta a las comunidades al sur de la nueva estación.
