Corea del Norte prueba misiles balísticos lanzados desde submarinos
Corea del Norte disparó un misil balístico lanzado desde un submarino (SLBM) frente a su costa este el martes, dijo el ejército de Corea del Sur.
El Estado Mayor Conjunto de Corea del Sur indicó que el misil fue lanzado alrededor de las 10:17 am desde el mar en las cercanías de Sinpo, donde Corea del Norte tiene submarinos y equipos para pruebas de disparo de SLBM.
«Nuestro ejército está monitoreando de cerca la situación y manteniendo una postura de preparación en estrecha cooperación con Estados Unidos, para prepararse para posibles lanzamientos adicionales», dijo su comunicado.
El Comando Indo-Pacífico del ejército estadounidense condenó el lanzamiento como desestabilizador, pero consideró que no representaba una amenaza inmediata para Estados Unidos o sus aliados.
El consejo de seguridad nacional de Corea del Sur lamentó la prueba e instó a Corea del Norte a reanudar las conversaciones.
El primer ministro japonés, Fumio Kishida, declaró que se habían detectado dos misiles balísticos y calificó la serie de pruebas de misiles de Corea del Norte en las últimas semanas como lamentables.
El secretario general de la ONU, Antonio Guterres, instó a Pyongyang a cumplir con las resoluciones del Consejo de Seguridad que prohíben los lanzamientos de misiles balísticos.
El portavoz adjunto de la ONU, Farhan Haq, dijo que Guterres pidió a Corea del Norte que reanude rápidamente los esfuerzos diplomáticos por la paz y la desnuclearización completa y verificable de la península de Corea.
Funcionarios surcoreanos y estadounidenses estaban investigando si el misil era una versión más pequeña, nunca antes vista, mostrada la semana pasada en una exhibición en Pyongyang, dijo a la agencia Reuters una fuente militar surcoreana, citando un análisis en curso.
