FORO contra el tráfico humano y sexual
Cada año, Hispanic Heritage Literature Organization/ Milibrohispano, institución sin ánimo de lucro, establecida en Miami, Florida, promueve una campaña en pro de una causa social. En 2021, la organización suma la voz de los escritores hispanos en contra del tráfico humano y sexual, la explotación y la esclavitud e invita en el marco del Día Mundial Contra el Tráfico de Personas convocado por las Naciones Unidas, al Foro contra el Tráfico Humano y Sexual, la Explotación y la Esclavitud a celebrarse el 30 de julio a las 7:30 p.m. (Hora Eastern) a través de las redes de Milibrohispano en Facebook.com/milibrohispano y Youtube/milibrohispano.
En este foro participará la escritora ecuatoriana residente en Charlotte, North Carolina, Margarita Dager-Uscocovich, autora de las novelas Las queremos vivas y No es tiempo de morir, publicadas por la editorial Snow Fountain Press, y el escritor colombiano, Marco T. Robayo, radicado en Garland, Texas, autor de las novelas: Piel de ébano, Una vida para Steven y El Gran Genocidio: ¿Descubrimiento o exterminio?, publicadas por la editorial Planeta. Ambos autores son miembros de Milibrohispano y versan sus obras sobre las problemáticas a discutir durante el Foro. Asimismo, ha sido invitada Fermina Ponce, poeta colombiana, radicada en Chicago, Illinois, quien se une con su poesía a esta temática.
El foro contará con una nutrida participación de personas que aportarán testimonios e información valiosa para la comunidad; entre ellos se destacan: el oficial David Castro, de Charlotte-Mecklemburg Police Department (CMPD), Fiorela Papapietro, periodista de Univisión y especialista en temas sociales, la señora Marjorie Murillo, Community Liaison Specialist at Miami Dade County Public Schools, la señora Lucía Puerta, la psicóloga y escritora colombiana experta en psicología holística y terapias del comportamiento humano, Leonor Reales, y la Lic. Karla de la Cuesta, presidenta de Alas Abiertas / Fundación Karla de la Cuesta, una de las hispanas que ha sobresalido por su continuo y arduo trabajo a nivel nacional e internacional, no solo impartiendo educación y en campañas de sensibilización, sino también, ayudando a las víctimas y a sus familias.
