La Junta Escolar continúa debatiendo sobre el código de conducta transgénero en el condado de Lee
El martes, la junta escolar del condado de Lee revisará el debate sobre el código de conducta LGBTQ del distrito.
En el código de conducta actual, dice «Todos los estudiantes pueden acceder a los baños que sean consistentes con su identidad de género», una idea que causó mucha emoción en la reunión de la junta en abril.
La Coalición SWFL para la Juventud LGBTQ le dijo a Fox 4 que este póster proporciona una guía para que los niños LGBTQ la sigan y se sientan apoyados en su escuela.
“Todo niño, transgénero, género no conforme, cisgénero merece el derecho a sentirse seguro en la escuela. Merece las mismas oportunidades educativas que cualquier otro niño en esa escuela … y si nos mantenemos firmes en nuestra resolución y continuamos liderando el camino en el progreso, vamos a establecer el camino para que todo el estado se sienta seguro en Florida ”, dijo Crystal Czyscon, miembro de la organización.
Czyscon dice que la otra idea que se está discutiendo es eliminar la imagen del arco iris de Florida que se encuentra en la parte superior de la página del código de conducta LGBTQ.
Ella dice que eso no es un problema, pero eliminar la página por completo les diría a nuestros estudiantes LGBTQ que no son compatibles.
Los padres que se oponen al código de conducta se pronunciaron en la reunión de abril y le dijeron a Fox 4 que la decisión no corresponde a la escuela.
“No es el derecho del distrito escolar determinar la moralidad de los niños. es el derecho de los padres determinar la moralidad de sus hijos ”, dijo Denise Nicestrom, quien se opone a cualquier política que permita a los niños del mismo sexo biológico usar el mismo baño.
Czyscon dice que los padres deben entender
que los estudiantes no pueden simplemente entrar al baño que quieran.
“No es que cualquier niño diga, hoy soy transgénero y voy a usar el baño que elija. No funciona así. La mayoría de los niños que se identifiquen, que no se ajustan al género, tendrán un baño a disposición de ellos de forma privada. Tienen la opción de usar cualquier baño que quieran, pero es algo que tienen que discutir con anticipación ”, dijo.
La junta no tomó ninguna decisión política en la última reunión.
La reunión del martes comenzará a las 6 de la tarde.
