Organización sin fines de lucro alcanza hito con la construcción de un centro de apoyo para el autismo
Family Initiative, Inc. celebró un hito en la construcción recientemente cuando se completó la pintura del exterior del edificio en el proyecto del Centro de apoyo para el autismo de Family Initiative Lizbeth Benacquisto. El edificio está ubicado junto a la sede actual de la organización en 730 SW 4th Street, junto a Pine Island Road y Skyline Boulevard en Cape Coral.
La nueva instalación de 3900 pies cuadrados será el primer centro de su tipo en el área para defender a las personas con trastorno del espectro autista (TEA) y sus familias. Cuenta con tres salas clínicas de vanguardia para una evaluación directa basada en evidencia; intervenciones terapéuticas y capacitación avanzada del personal que anteriormente no estaba disponible en ningún lugar del suroeste de Florida.
“En asociación con nuestras familias de TEA, cada centímetro cuadrado del nuevo centro ha sido diseñado minuciosamente para apoyar a las personas con el espectro del autismo, desde sus comodidades hogareñas y colores de pintura relajantes hasta sus sofisticadas características de seguridad y equipo avanzado”, explicó David. Brown, MSW, presidente de Family Initiative, Inc.
“Estamos muy agradecidos por los generosos seguidores de la comunidad que se han conectado con nuestra visión de crear un programa de TEA inclusivo y de clase mundial que se adhiera a los más altos estándares clínicos y las mejores prácticas. Esperamos poder albergar pronto conversaciones comunitarias, foros educativos y actividades de apoyo cuando se lance el centro ”, agregó Brown.
El financiamiento para el proyecto de $ 400,000 se obtuvo a través de una combinación de fondos estatales y privados. La ex miembro del Senado del Estado de Florida, Lizbeth Benacquisto, de quien se nombra el edificio, defendió los esfuerzos para asegurar el financiamiento del proyecto del Estado de Florida. Dane Eagle, ex miembro de la Cámara de Representantes de Florida, junto con el sucesor de Benacquisto en el Senado del Estado de Florida, Ray Rodrigues, también trabajaron para obtener fondos estatales para el proyecto.
Burt Hill / Pollock Krieg Architects, con sede en Fort Myers, proporcionó servicios de diseño y Banks Engineering contribuyó con el trabajo del sitio pro bono. Mays Construction es el constructor. Continúa la construcción del espacio interior.
