Castillo designa a legislador de izquierda como jefe de gabinete en Perú
El presidente de Perú, Pedro Castillo, designó este jueves como jefe de gabinete al legislador izquierdista Guido Bellido, quien carece de experiencia en cargos públicos y ocupa un escaño en el Congreso desde hace seis días.
Castillo tomó juramentó a Bellido, ingeniero electrónico de 41 años, en una ceremonia simbólica en la Pampa de la Quinua, sitio de la batalla de Ayacucho del 9 de diciembre de 1824, que selló la independencia de Perú y del resto de la América española.
Juro «por los más de 30 millones de hermanos» peruanos y «por la lucha contra la corrupción», dijo Bellido, dirigente del oficialista partido Perú Libre y oriundo de la región andina de Cusco.
Medios peruanos indicaron que la fiscalía había investigado este año a Bellido por presunta «apología al terrorismo», por unas declaraciones en una entrevista, antes de que asumiera el viernes su banca en el Congreso, que le otorga inmunidad.
«El país estaba en un desastre (1980), hubo peruanos que equivocadamente tomaron un camino, ¿son peruanos o no? Por eso tienen sus derechos. ¿Qué tienes contra los senderistas?», señaló Bellido el 23 de abril al canal de internet Inka Visión Noticias.
La designación de Bellido «es un mensaje que polariza», reaccionó el legislador de derecha radical Alejandro Cavero, en declaraciones a la radio limeña RPP.
Bellido fue uno de los 37 candidatos de Perú Libre elegidos al Congreso en los comicios de abril, en coincidencia con la primera vuelta presidencial. En Perú los parlamentarios pueden ocupar simultáneamente cargos en el gobierno.
Al igual que el nuevo presidente, Bellido tiene origen campesino, no ocupó cargos públicos previamente ni participó en la política limeña. También luce siempre un sombrero tradicional, aunque diferente al de Castillo, porque ambos son de regiones diferentes (Cusco y Cajamarca).
Castillo inició el miércoles su mandato de cinco años en medio de la esperanza de millares de compatriotas, pero también inquietud de buena parte de los peruanos que temen un brusco giro hacia el socialismo tras décadas de políticas liberales.
El flamante presidente mantuvo en reserva hasta último momento el nombre de su jefe de gabinete. Los otros 18 ministros serán juramentados en Lima, según anunció la Presidencia en un comunicado.
