El Ayuntamiento de Naples se prepara para votar sobre el nuevo contrato policial
Después de meses de ida y vuelta, los líderes de Naples votarán sobre un nuevo contrato para la fuerza policial de la ciudad.
Este será un contrato de tres años hasta septiembre de 2024. El acuerdo actual expiró en septiembre pasado, por lo que hay algún incentivo para cerrar este nuevo acuerdo.
Cada año de ese nuevo contrato vería un aumento de salario para los policías. Dentro del primer año, habrá un aumento salarial de alrededor del 13%. En el año dos, un aumento del 6% y en el año tres cerca de un aumento del 7%.
También existen incentivos educativos para aquellos sargentos que decidan obtener su título de licenciatura o maestría. Los sargentos que tengan una licenciatura recibirán un pago de incentivo quincenal de $38.46 y para aquellos con una maestría será de $76.92.
Algunos de los que ya están en la fuerza se han sentido frustrados porque se ha tardado tanto en llegar a un nuevo acuerdo. El oficial Jesse Granese, un oficial de policía de Naples, le dijo a Fox 4 que todos los retrasos son desalentadores.
“Aunque la ciudad no ha negociado necesariamente con buena suerte, nuestros oficiales siguen dando lo mejor de sí y dando el 110 % a los residentes”, dice.
Granese también dijo que confía en que se firmará un nuevo contrato esta semana. Y la alcaldesa Teresa Heitmann dijo anteriormente que está comprometida con grandes aumentos para la policía.
La reunión de esta mañana comienza a las 8:30.
