Asume nueva ministra de Salud en Argentina tras escándalo por vacunas
Vizzotti, que hasta ahora era secretaria de Acceso a la Salud, se destacó por haber conseguido la vacuna rusa Sputnik V para Argentina.
Carla Vizzotti asumió este sábado como ministra de Salud de Argentina en reemplazo de Ginés González García, quien renunció el viernes luego de que se revelara que sus allegados se habían vacunado contra el covid-19 evadiendo el cronograma oficial.
En un breve acto transmitido por canales locales, el presidente argentino Alberto Fernández tomó juramento a Vizzotti como nueva titular de la cartera de Salud en la residencia presidencial de Olivos. No hubo posteriores declaraciones ni preguntas de la prensa.
Vizzotti, una especialista en medicina interna de 48 años que era hasta ahora secretaria de Acceso a la Salud, rol en el que se destacó por haber conseguido la vacuna rusa Sputnik V para Argentina, asumió en lugar de González, quien dimitió a pedido del presidente.
La gestión del exministro de 75 años, quien ya había estado al frente de esa cartera durante el gobierno de Néstor Kirchner (2003-2007), quedó empañada por las vacunaciones «de privilegio» en la sede del Ministerio de Salud, que se conocieron el mismo día en que la ciudad de Buenos Aires habilitó la solicitud de turnos online para vacunar a mayores de 80 años a partir del próximo lunes, un mecanismo que colapsó casi de inmediato ante la enorme demanda.
El escándalo estalló luego de que el periodista Horacio Verbitsky contara en un programa de radio que pudo vacunarse gracias a su amistad con González, provocando una catarata de reacciones en las redes sociales bajo el hashtag #vacunasvip.
Además de Verbitsky, otras personas cercanas al gobierno se habrían vacunado en el Ministerio de Salud.
El Ministerio Público Fiscal, a través de la Procuraduría de Investigaciones Administrativas (PIA), abrió una investigación para estudiar estas irregularidades, indicó la prensa local.
Argentina suma más de dos millones de contagios de covid-19 y alcanza las 51.000 muertes.
Hasta ahora, el país ha recibido 1.220.000 dosis de Sputnik V y 580.000 de Covishield, del instituto indio Serum.
El plan de vacunación incluirá ampollas de Oxford/AstraZeneca, hasta completar este año 62 millones de dosis de diferentes contratos, entre ellos uno con el mecanismo internacional de cooperación Covax.
