Israel alcanza la peor puntuación de su historia en el índice anual de corrupción
Un organismo de control anticorrupción otorgó el martes a Israel su peor puntuación en una clasificación mundial sobre cómo los países abordan la corrupción gubernamental.
El Índice de Percepción de la Corrupción 2021 de Transparency International, que mide la percepción de la corrupción en el sector público según expertos y empresarios, otorgó a Israel una puntuación de 59 sobre 100. Recibió una puntuación de 60 en 2020 y una puntuación de 64 en 2016.
Los puntajes más altos se otorgan a los países que se considera que tienen el nivel más bajo de corrupción.
Israel ocupa el puesto 36 entre 180 países en el informe de 2021, después de ocupar el puesto 28 hace cinco años. Entre los 37 países de la OCDE, Israel ocupa el puesto 29, cayendo cuatro lugares en comparación con el informe de 2020.
Las calificaciones, dice la organización, se derivan de los «niveles percibidos de corrupción en el sector público según expertos y empresarios» de cada país, según los datos recopilados de 13 organizaciones, incluido el Banco Mundial, el Foro Económico Mundial y Freedom House.
Transparency International no proporcionó ningún detalle sobre el motivo de la calificación que le otorgó a Israel ni a casi ningún país encuestado, y no incluyó a Israel entre los países enumerados en su división «Oriente Medio y Norte de África», ni en ninguna otra región. desglose.

La coalición actual también acaba de ordenar una comisión estatal de investigación sobre las compras de submarinos y otras embarcaciones navales bajo gobiernos anteriores encabezados por Netanyahu.
Los países mejor clasificados del mundo, es decir, los menos corruptos, fueron Dinamarca, Finlandia y Nueva Zelanda, que lograron una puntuación de 88. En un comunicado de prensa que explica el informe, Transparency International dijo que “cada vez más, los derechos y los controles y equilibrios se están socavando no solo en países con corrupción sistémica e instituciones débiles, sino también entre democracias establecidas”.
Entre otros problemas globales que citó durante el año pasado, el informe destacó el uso del software Pegasus del grupo israelí NSO, que se ha relacionado con espiar a activistas de derechos humanos, periodistas y políticos en todo el mundo.
El informe dijo que la pandemia “se ha utilizado en muchos países como una excusa para restringir las libertades básicas y eludir importantes controles y equilibrios”.
Estados Unidos, que cayó en los últimos años para alcanzar los 67 puntos en 2020, mantuvo esa puntuación esta vez, pero cayó un par de lugares hasta el puesto 27. Transparency dijo que había salido del top 25 por primera vez “ya que enfrenta ataques continuos a elecciones libres y justas y un sistema opaco de financiamiento de campañas”.
